Poverty Reduction: UK

We believe everybody in this country has the right to a warm, dry home that they can afford to heat and power. Sadly that is not the case for many.

The UK Government’s 2014 statistics show that more than one in 10 English households is now living in fuel poverty, with residents of 2.28m properties struggling to be able to afford to heat their homes.

Armstrong Energy manages solar pv assets which have been installed on properties owned by housing associations and local authorities. The tenants of these properties are allowed to use all of the electricity generated by the solar system for free, reducing their fuel costs.

We are now exploring opportunities to further reduce the energy bills of housing association and local authority tenants.
